Özet: Ekodistopya, ekosistemlerin çöktüğü ve doğal varlıkların yok olduğu bir dünyayı anlatan edebi türdür. Ekodistopya metinleri olan Yol, Androidler Elektrikli Koyun Düşler mi ve Tufan Zamanı romanları iklim krizi, canlıların neslinin tükenmesi ve genetiği değiştirilmiş organizmalara ilişkin ekolojik sorunları ve bunların sonuçlarını işlemektedir. Romanlarda anlatılan ekolojik felaketler mevcut ekolojik sorunların artmış ve küreselleşmiş hallerine benzemektedir. Son yıllarda ekolojik krizlerin artması distopyaları olası hale getirmektedir. Yeryüzündeki yaşamı ortadan kaldırabilecek tehditler hukuki düzenlemeler tarafından engellenememektedir. Hukukta çevreyi korumaya yönelik çeşitli düzenlemeler vardır; ama bunların etkileri sınırlıdır. Hukukun bazı yapısal özellikleri nedeniyle ekolojik sorunlara çözüm getiremediği aksine bu sorunların ortaya çıkışına sebep olduğu tartışılmaktadır. Bu makalede ekodistopya romanları, bunlarda bahsedilen ekolojik sorunlar ve ilgili hukuki düzenlemeler bu tartışmalarla birlikte değerlendirilmiştir.

CAN WE RELY ON LAW?

ECOLOGICAL DYSTOPIAS AND REAL DISASTERS

Abstract: Eco-dystopia is a literary genre describing a world in which ecosystems collapse, and natural beings disappear. The eco-dystopia texts, The Road, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and The Year of the Flood, describe ecological problems and their consequences related to the climate crisis, extinction of species and genetically modified organisms. The novels describe the ecological catastrophes that are the increased and globalized versions of the ecological problems in the real world. Recent increasing ecological crises make these dystopias possible. Legal regulations cannot prevent the immediate threats that can extinguish life on earth. There are various legal regulations to protect the environment, but their effects are limited. It is argued that due to the law’s structural features it cannot be a solution for ecological problems. On the contrary, the law causes the emergence of these problems. In this article the eco-dystopian novels, the current ecological problems described in them, and related legal regulations are evaluated with these discussions.
